Reference Guidelines

You will need to provide a minimum of 3 references with your application. References should be completed using the Au Pair in America reference forms, available on our forms page here.

• For Au Pair in America and Extraordinaire you must include 3 references: 2 childcare and 1 character reference. 
• For Educare, you must include 3 references: 1 childcare, 1 academic, and 1 character reference.
• Your primary childcare experience and recent hours of experience must have references to support them.
• Your references should be able to verify at least 200 hours of your childcare experience.
• Immediate family members may not complete a reference
• All references must be signed, dated, and contain sufficient detail about your experience
• We encourage you to submit as many childcare and character references as possible. It is especially useful to provide references from employers listed on your childcare experience form.
