With 2 weeks of vacation time, and at least one weekend off per month you’ll have heaps of opportunities to explore your local area, and travel to other parts of America.
Getting around in the US is easy, and you can choose from a variety of transport options, including:
- Flights
- Train (Amtrak)
- Bus (Greyhound, Peter Pan)
Many travel companies will offer student or youth discounts, so make sure to always travel with your ID!
One of the great benefits of the Au Pair in America program is the travel month. After you have completed the program you are free to travel throughout the US for an additional month before you return to Australia. The US has so many different cities, landscapes and cultures – there is so much to explore! You can either travel with friends or join an organized tour.
If you're the outdoor type, why not take a trip in the canyon-lands of Arizona and Utah, including hiking in the Grand Canyon National Park and finishing with the bright lights of Las Vegas? Or perhaps you would like to discover the delights of the east coast, from the excitement of the big cities of New York, Washington DC and Atlantic City, to the sun of the Florida beaches and the magic of Disney World.
Hi, my name is Claire and I am living in a town just outside of Boston. I am settling in really well and having a lot of fun getting to know the area and meeting heaps of new people.
Hi! My names Lisa and I’m in the third month of my year in America. I live in a small town near New York City and I’m really beginning to settle in, I pretty much have a whole new life here now with friends, college and hopefully soon some volunteer work.
